Mankind's unceasing passion : Curiosity about the future

Mankind has a curiosity as old as mankind's history : to discover the future!

All of us are curious about our future , we desire to learn about the pleasures and griefs that are waiting for us in the near and far future. It is undeniable that among the methods of learning about your future , fortune-telling or having your fortune told is considered the most important. As we know , fortune-telling is done by consulting a crystal ball or examining playing-cards and by using many METHODS. The fact that makes the fortune-teller a fortune-teller is the capability of feeling something and transfering the same. Essentially the meaning of seeing something is seeing into the future and this has caused the definition of "fortune-telling". Despite the fact that the century in which we live has changed our living manner and our angle of looking at life , with its scientific and technical improvements , it could not destroy our desire to look into the future and fortune-telling. The desire to have one's fortune told lives inside everybody no matter whether they are old-fishioned or modern. The injunction "don't believe in fortune-telling but don't remain without fortune-telling" is the best proof of this undeniable desire.

"don't believe in fortune-telling but don't remain without fortune-telling"

I like this comment. It sums up the way many regard fortune telling. You may not believe in it, yet when it is told, you can become quite interseted in it.
Very good topic

I actually don’t believe in fortune telling, to me, that’s all psychology. The so-called “fortune tellers” tell your future by looking at some of your characteristics. For example, in some Asian countries, females aged around 25 or above would consider marriage, the fortune tellers know this, and they tell you that you actually want to get married, sounding as though they can see through your thoughts, once you start believing that “these people do know something about me” you start telling them everything, all they need to do is follow what you are saying, and once you trust them enough, they start telling your future, they can tell what your desires are, and what you are afraid of, by looking at your every response to everything they say. It’s not “psychic”, it’s “psychology”. XD

As i said before there is no right or wrong in fortune telling but isnt the "pychic" thing comes from " pychology" in a way?
